Telesign announces new partnership to extend its fraud detection and identity coverage in Malaysia

Telesign has announced a brand new partnership with Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) to extend its fraud detection and identity coverage in Malaysia. This development will enable the Digi users to safeguard themselves against Account Takeover (ATO) through SIMSwap, registration fraud, and other fraud-related activities.

With the phenomenal increase in the digital transformation activities in Malaysia, operational models in the country have been challenged to provide safety to user identities and help improve the user experiences on mobile and web. Digital identity solutions like the ones from Telesign can maximize safeguards and empower organizations with risk intelligence.

“Digi is now able to quickly verify and authenticate customers’ information required by the online merchants without having to share any of customers’ personal details such as name, identification number, or phone number. This is in line with our commitment to protect our customers’ personal data and their online identities, ensuring that they have seamless and worry-free online transactions anytime, any day,” said Prashant Pathmanaban, Digi’s Head of Data and Partnership.

Through this partnership Digi is using Telesign's Score and PhoneID solutions. Telesign has been working with mobile operators all over APAC to build an extensive network of direct-to-carrier connections and has been guiding operators in expanding digital identity use cases and privacy principles.
